November's meeting on Tuesday 21st will be a talk on Brighton Secret Garden by Professor Gavin Henderson CBE.
"The Secret Garden originally belonged to 32 Sussex Square which was bought by its first owner, Laurence Peel, younger brother of the Prime Minister, in 1830. Several of the grand houses in the square had extensive gardens, each of which was accessed through a tunnel leading from the appropriate house. The Secret Garden is now the only one of these remaining. It is ‘secret’ because it is an oasis, a delightful walled garden hidden from view, in the midst of suburban Kemp Town".
Admissions: Members £5.00. Non_members £6.00. Yearly membership subscription £5.00
A talk from Brighton Fork and Dig. They are a Community Food Growing Project committed to Organic Principles
“We set up Fork and Dig It in 2007 and immediately started connecting people to the land and their food through successful volunteer and community event days. In 2011 we started Brighton’s first CSA, producing a weekly organic share of the crop. This is now in its 11th year and has matured into Brighton CSA “
